Need a Babysitter? Try Care.com

Thursday, March 13th, 2008

MomSquawk couldn’t exist without its sponsors, so we tend to like them. But we really like Care.com. Not too long ago, we were looking for a babysitter, and it was a hassle, as new parents know. Our first thought was, “I wish there was a website that would do background checks on local babysitters and tell you when they were available. That would be really cool.”

Flash forward to a couple weeks ago when we were contacted by Care.com. In their own words:

Care.com is a service connecting families with a network of local babysitters, nannies, senior care providers, tutors, housekeepers, and pet sitters nationwide. Membership plans start at just $10 per month for our annual subscription and include FREE background checks, robust caregiver profiles, video interviews and more.

So we checked out their site - it’s easy to use and just as advertised - a way to get quality care for your kids with a minimum of hassle. Just click on your city and you’re provided with a map of all the available care givers. Click on a name, and up comes all the info you want to see about them. It’s really slick.

So take a look - we think you’ll like it. Care.com has agreed to give a complimentary three-month premium membership to the first MomSquawker to email us at squawk@momsquawk.com, so there’s no time like the present.
