Glow Stick Recall: The Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall of 1 million pink and orange glow sticks given away by Dunkin’ Donuts nationwide over the past two months. The glow sticks pose a choking and strangulation hazard to young children, and are not so labeled.

Lead Paint Toy Recalls: The CPSC announced a recall of Halloween skull pails, manufactured by R.L. Albert & Son, of Greenwich, CT, and sold nationwide for the last two months for about $2 each, because the surface paint on the eyes, nose, and teeth contain excessive amounts of lead. (We believe this is one of the products flagged earlier this month by the Ashland University professor who randomly tested Halloween toys for lead paint.)
Also recalled for lead paint violations are tabletop puppet theaters manufactured by Guidecraft Inc., of Englewood, N.J. and sold nationwide through specialty toy shops, gift shops, catalogs, and web sites.

Also recalled for lead paint violations are “Cool Clip” and “Mini Cool Clip” bookmarks sold nationwide at book, card, and gift stores since April, 2003. (Sample clips pictured below; see the CPSC site for the complete collection of lead paint bookmarks.)
