Prenatal Test News:  Researchers at Yale University are studying a method for predicting when a woman might be at risk for preterm delivery and infection of the placenta and of the newborn.  They recruited women and analyzed samples of their amniotic fluid, looking specifically for four protein markers.  The presence of these markers was associated with earlier births and infection; however, the researchers note that further evaluation of the diagnostic tool in different populations is needed.

What a way to go!   We extend a hearty congratulations to Ashley Harder, the now former Miss New Jersey, who recently discovered that she is pregnant!  And condolences, too, as the Miss USA pageant rules state that preggos are not eligible to compete for the crown.  The Garden State’s runner-up assumes the title, and she’s to try to refrain from binge drinking, kissing other girls, or getting pregnant herself, at least until the March pageant.

Yeah, it is probably difficult for men to fantasize about a pregnant beauty queen.

    These pageants are a joke!
